Let me say here, we are not the cheapest beginner lessons. This is where the habits, good or bad, start. If we do the wiring work here immaculately we set you up with fantastic technique for life. Rush this part and you will forever be revisiting the foundations of balance and plateauing in your progress down the track. We are a school for excellence and not going to rush you into a group or pressure you to develop any quicker than what feels good to you. It is in our best interest to perfect your balance, communication and hands because it keeps our horses sound, happy and enjoying their job. If you don’t share these values with us, we are not the right school for you.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are for our beginner riders so that we can put all our focus and attention into building a strong, centered, secure and balanced riders that understand how to clearly communicate and work with their horse.

Riders in our private lessons will learn how to be secure and balanced in the saddle in walk, trot and canter so that they are able to confidently ride independently. They will also learn the basics of communicating with the horse in the saddle so that they can stop, go and steer well enough to ride with others.

Riders will stay in private lessons until they are ready for their assessment. In their assessment they will have their independent skills tested for competency. Once their skills are evaluated they will graduate into Level 1 group lessons and receive a certificate stating the level of riding they have achieved and will be ready to move into group lessons.

Lesson Availability

• Monday - Thursday 3pm - 7.30pm

• Ages 7 through to adults

• Level of riding - Not yet riding walk, trot, canter independently with balance

• Half Hour one to one lesson

• Focus on building basic skills and working safely with the horse
